GE 44 Tonner

The 44 Tonner series was built between January of 1940 and December of 1956, weighs 88,000 lbs and uses two 4-cycle Model HB1-600 diesel prime movers that develop 300 hp, and 27,000 lbs of tractive effort, and carries 165 gallons of fuel. My thanks to The Diesel Shop for the information.

The Maine Central Railroad had seven of these little engines, and they were solid performers.
